Fueling 21st century campus expansion, Sheehans has worked with Brown University on two important capital projects– the Brown Applied Math Building and the Brown School of Engineering Building (now the Engineering Research Center), detailed below.

DRIVERS

Support the teaching and research mission of the university
Accommodate expansion of the School of Engineering
Serve as resource for the entire campus
Create spaces that serve the schools interdisciplinary/collaborative approach

SCOPE

4-floor new construction in partnership with KiernanTimberlake Architects and Shawmut Design and Construction, which includes:

  • A multi-functional commons, café, and meeting space
  • Outdoor eating area and green spaces for collaboration and relaxation
  • Large and small-scale collaboration and study spaces
  • Open-plan laboratories and workstations
  • Professor and administration private offices
  • Features Knoll Studio, Knoll and Kimball furniture

Proof of Brown’s leadership in engineering and world-class research
Delivering a range of active and dynamic learning spaces
